My Time - My Fight

Lumuuno Kabanda

Written by

Been sleeping for so long, hands in my pockets and dust on my boots, slept through winds of change like Rip Van winkle , hid in the closet when it rained, this will no longer be me, this will be a past tale...

I will arise to stake my claim and make every heartbeat count, I'll face all face to face, I'll climb that mountain that long stood before me and once done I'll look for another...

I'll walk into the dark and be the light, for my mind is too strong, I'll turn every scar I bear into a symbol of a mind of stone, I'll see my future face to face with my head held high...

I start today, when to stop not even I can tell, I won't grind to redeem my past, for they are chains that hold those who wait in vain, every sunrise will whisper my time has come...

No more tomorrow for everyday that passes seems to push only further, no more promises for that's how the mind deceived itself in times past...

I'll tell myself be brave, look to the future and never give your energy to the past, rise up and touch the sky, and if fell to reach the sun then I'll glad kiss the stars...

I'll chase my dreams and see them through, i won't care who sees and I will I not turn back, I will ride upon thunder till every dream is achieved, I'll break my chains, this time is mine...
